Due to an internal promotion we are seeking a Tax Manager to join their management team. The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in the finance division, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you are responsible for all tax activities. Including: tax planning, tax compliance, investment tax, tax risk management and tax reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of tax planning and compliance, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position.
  • Provide expert advice on tax implications for various business activities and transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to minimize tax risks and identify tax-saving opportunities and supporting the Business Development team.
  • Liaising and coordinating with external parties and fostering relationships
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to the organization.
  • Lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and reports. Developing and maintaining tax related KPI system.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration from a recognised university
  • Preferred: Master's in International Tax or Business Administration from a recognised Management School
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of international tax experience, including at least 5 years in a similar role. (within Big 4)
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, both locally and internationally.
  • 5 years experience in the energy or renewable energy sector is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and exposure to Qatar and other Gulf regions
  • Proficiency in English is essential

Current projects include construction and manufacturing plant builds/upgrades. You will be working closely with the business owners to deliver an excellent culture of success.

 

Responsibilities:

· Technical understanding – providing safety support in current and potential projects.

· Be a collaborative, strong team player confident with managing people remotely and be flexible to jump in and cover if required.

· Excellent Communicator working with subcontractors and clients to ensure safety requirements are carried at to the best ability at all times.

· Support and develop processes within the business.

· As a highly organised person you will be used to planning works, managing tight deadlines, and problem solving for personnel and equipment requirements.

· Contribute to meetings and safety debriefs, collating information and fostering knowledge for future projects and liasing with customers.

· Producing reports, auditing and documentation for both internal and external parties.

· Flexibility and drive to get stuck in and get the job completed – one team mentality. This is a Monday to Friday role but weekend work may be required from time to time (overtime paid).

· Happy to occassionally work away from home, or cover safety staff for leave/absence.

 

Qualifications:

· Required NEBOSH qualification or higher.

· First Aid and Fire Training an advantage.

· Min of 10 years' of experience in site safety and working with principal contractors. Construction & Industrial manufacturing (hygiene etc).

· Fluent in verbal and written English - Strong experience in documentation analysis, review and reporting.

· Familiarity with legislation for best practices and performance standards. Compliance with internal and external procedures, policies.

· Sound computing experience.

· Legal rights to work in the UK and a full clean UK driving license.
